Houston Heights Woman's Club Hortense Ward Scholarship Application 2023-2024

The Hortense Ward Scholarship is presented annually by the Houston Heights Woman’s Club to a female law school student in her second or third year. The recipient should exemplify the qualities of public service and commitment to social causes, especially those involving women. Candidates are asked to provide a brief statement describing their involvement in these initiatives and how they plan to continue this involvement in their legal careers.

In 2023, the Houston Heights Woman’s Club will offer one scholarship in the amount of $3,000 to a female student pursuing a degree from South Texas College of Law, enrolled during the 2023-2024 academic year.

The awardee will be selected based on:
Educational path
Vocation or occupational goals and
Service and commitment to social and/or civic activities. The scholarship may be used for school or living expenses.
