2024 Austin Bar Foundation & LGBTQ+ Law Section LGBTQ+ Scholarship Application

The Austin Bar Foundation and the LGBTQ+ Law Section of the Austin Bar Association are honored to announce the Foundation’s ninth annual LGBTQ+ Scholarship. The Foundation and Section will award $5,000 scholarships to four current students (including 2024 graduates) enrolled at a Texas law school.

Eligible students must be enrolled at a public or private law school physically located in the State of Texas and have demonstrated some commitment or contribution to the LGBTQ+ community or LGBTQ+ legal issues.

This criterion will be broadly construed to include activities consistent with the Austin Bar’s LGBTQ+ Law Section’s purposes of promoting education on issues relating to the LGBTQ+ law, raising the profile and acceptance of LGBTQ+ individuals within the legal community, and promoting LGBTQ+ equality. The selection committee will also consider each applicant’s academic record and education debt burden/financial need.

Please complete this form and submit it, along with a current copy of your transcript (official or unofficial), resume, a short statement of financial need, and, most importantly, a (1-2 page) statement of commitment or contribution to the LGBTQ+ community or LGBTQ+ legal issues.
