LGBTQ+ Scholarship

2023 APPLICATION DEADLINE IS AUGUST 22, 2023
The Austin Bar Foundation and the LGBT Law Section of the Austin Bar Association are honored to announce the Foundation’s eighth annual LGBTQ+ Scholarship. The Foundation and Section will award $5,000 scholarships to four current students (including 2023 graduates) enrolled at a Texas law school.

Eligible students must be enrolled at a public or private law school physically located in the State of Texas and have demonstrated some commitment or contribution to the LGBTQ+ community or LGBTQ+ legal issues. This criterion will be broadly construed to include activities consistent with the Austin Bar’s LGBT Law Section’s purposes of promoting education on issues relating the LGBTQ+ law, raising the profile and acceptance of LGBTQ+ individuals within the legal community, and promoting LGBTQ+ equality. The selection committee will also consider each applicant’s academic record and education debt burden/financial need.
