Jose S. Lopez Endowed Scholarship

The purpose of this fund is to support Law School¡¦s scholarship endowment. Preference will be
given to students who meet the following requirements:

Be a first-generation law student. First-generation is defined as neither of the student’s
parents nor legal guardians have obtained a law degree. This fund identifies students who
are the first in their immediate family to pursue a legal education.

Be a woman. Preference is given to female students to promote gender diversity and
support women pursuing a legal education.

Be a minority. Minority is defined as students who belong to racial or ethnic groups that
are underrepresented in the legal profession.

Be a part-time student. Preference is given to students in the J.D. part-time program to
support those who are balancing legal education with work or other responsibilities.
