Scholarship for 2L/3L Law Student Pursuing a Career in Environmental and Natural Resources Law
2L/3L Law Student Scholarship: ENRLS awards a need-based scholarship to one 2L or 3L student at each Texas law school who has demonstrated an interest in a career in environmental law. The scholarships are awarded each spring semester, and the award is $3,000. Scholarship winners are profiled on the ENRLS website.
About ENRLS: The Environmental and Natural Resources Law Section (ENRLS) of the State Bar of Texas consists of lawyers and students who practice or have an interest in environmental and natural resources law. ENRLS supports and provides resources to environmental and natural resource lawyers and students in Texas and promotes these areas of practice to students and new lawyers.
ENRLS Law School Committee: This ENRLS Committee reaches out to and interacts with law students interested in the practice of environmental and natural resources law. The Committee informs law school students about the practice of environmental and natural resources law and promotes and manages three scholarship and internship programs.
Scholarship Criteria and Eligibility: ENRLS offers a need-based scholarship to one 2L or 3L student at each Texas law school who has demonstrated an interest in a career in environmental and natural resources law. In awarding the scholarships, ENRLS will consider the applicant’s application, resume, transcript, responses to the two essay questions, and letter(s) of recommendation. The scholarship review committee will also seek input from the law school’s environmental and natural resources professors.

- Application, resume, transcript, and letter(s) of recommendation

Submission of Application and Deadline: To be considered, applicants must submit the completed application and all supporting materials by February 28, 2026, to Treasurer@texenrls.org

Scholarship Awards: Scholarship awards will be announced by April 15, 2026, and the financial aid offices at each respective law school will be notified.
