Austin Bar Association LGBTQ Scholarship

The Austin Bar Foundation and the LGBT Law Section of the Austin Bar Association are honored to announce the Foundation’s seventh annual LGBTQ+ Scholarship. The Foundation and Section will award $4000 scholarships to three current students (including 2022 graduates) enrolled at a Texas law school.

Eligible students must be enrolled at a public or private law school physically located in the State of Texas and have demonstrated some commitment or contribution to the LGBTQ+ community or LGBTQ+ legal issues. This criterion will be broadly construed to include activities consistent with the Austin Bar’s LGBT Law Section’s purposes of promoting education on issues relating the LGBTQ+ law, raising the profile and acceptance of LGBTQ+ individuals within the legal community, and promoting LGBTQ+ equality. The selection committee will also consider each applicant’s academic record and education debt burden/financial need.
